VALÉRIE DE MAROTTE BONED
Founder and director of Tagomago Collectors Project

Collector, founder of Tagomago gallery and self-taught photographer. She was raised in a family with a strong penchant for fine art collecting. Between 1994 and 1996 she worked at the public relations department of Visa pour l’Image Festival in Perpignan. Back in Paris in 1997, she attended with her husband Vicenç Boned the first edition of Paris Photo. It was then when they initiated their collecting in the area of books and fine art photography. In 2007 they returned to Barcelona where they embarked on Tagomago, a gallery dedicated to contemporary photography. Since its launching in 2009 until the completion of its trajectory in 2015, Tagomago collaborated with a series of acclaimed and emerging artists, featuring an eclectic program of exhibitions, activities and international fairs (Unseen Amsterdam, MIA Milano, Photo Off Paris, Fotofever Paris, Madrid Foto and Swab Barcelona). Besides this, Valérie de Marotte has contributed as portfolio reviewer in various festivals and international encounters: Rencontres d’Arles 2014, Arles Off 2012 and Circulations (Paris 2012). She has attended workshops by Joan Fontcuberta & Martin Parr (Embarrat 2012) and Horacio Fernández (Meatings 23, 2014). She is a regular visitor to important public and private collections, artist studios, art fairs and festivals all over Europe. Her photographic work has been exhibited at Photographie Contemporaine Place Saint Sulpice Fair (Paris 2011), and in group shows at H20 gallery (“Crossing Boxes”, Barcelona 2010), and Tagomago gallery (“0,01 megapixels”, Barcelona 2012 / Paris 2014).

VICENÇ BONED I LLOVERAS

Collector and founder of Tagomago gallery. Vicenç Boned has resided for many years in France where he became familiarized with the world of photography festivals, fairs and photobooks. In 1997 he attended with his wife Valérie de Marotte the first edition of Paris Photo. It was then when they initiated their collecting in the area of books and fine art photography. In 2007 they returned to Barcelona where they embarked on Tagomago, a gallery dedicated to contemporary photography. Since its launching in 2009 until the completion of its trajectory in 2015, Tagomago collaborated with a series of acclaimed and emerging artists, featuring an eclectic program of exhibitions, activities and international fairs (Unseen Amsterdam, MIA Milano, Photo Off Paris, Fotofever Paris, Madrid Foto and Swab Barcelona). Besides this, Vicenç Boned has been member of the platform for the future Photography Centre in Barcelona. He has also been jury at Boutographies Festival in 2011 and portfolio reviewer in festivals and international encounters such as: Full Contact (Scan Festival, Tarragona 2012 and 2014), Rencontres d’Arles 2014, Lens Culture Fotofest (Paris, 2013), Arles Off 2012, Festival Circulations (Paris 2012) and Emergent (Lleida 2011). He has attended workshops by Marta Gili (La Magistral 2010), Gervasio Sánchez (2011), Joachim Schmid & Joan Fontcuberta (Foto Colectania Foundation, Barcelona) and Horacio Fernández (Meatings 23, 2014) and has participated in lectures and round tables on collecting (Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya, OjodePez Meeting 2010 and Festival Revela-t 2014) .He is a regular visitor to important public and private collections, artist studios, art fairs and festivals all over Europe.

NATASHA CHRISTIA
Curator in Tagomago Collectors Project

Natasha Christia is an independent writer, curator and educator. She complements her activity as a collection consultant and dealer specialized in fine art photography and photobooks. Her research focuses on the exploration and reinvention of dominant narratives through a novel reading of archival collections, the intersection of photography, film and the photobook, and the dialogue between 20th century avant-garde photography and contemporary post-photography-labelled manifestations.
